A proposal for a 'water village' on the southern side of the Eem lake has been developed for Center Parcs, which already operates the nearby Eemhof holiday village.
Linked to the existing marina, there will a cluster of 150 waterside houses and apartments based on two principle design concepts. 'Tutti Bianci' provides a particularly nautical holiday feel, the predominant color being white. The most distinctive design concept goes by the name 'Americo', which is inspired by the Dutch fishing villages of yesteryear, with low compact forms in traditional brickwork.
