The Netherlands Auto Recycling Foundation (ARN) commissioned DHV to design a new facility at which the last remnants of reusable materials will be recovered from disused cars.
The building is organized around a central logistics area. The bulk storage hall is to the rear of the site. The production area, in which the recycling process itself is conducted, is adjacent to the storage hall with the research lab and workshop in front, enclosing the logistics area. The sections have been designed to form a cohesive whole. Concrete and steel are the dominant materials in the bulk storage and production areas, while the design has been refined with additional glass for the offices.
